Many Artists spend their lifetime attempting to duplicate nature’s splendor. In my works, I utilize nature’s magnificent creations millions of years in the making. Art in their own right, some offered untouched, perfect as nature intended. Rock specimens are personally selected and harvested from across our beautiful country. Mostly from Virginia, Tennessee, Carolinas, Georgia, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico, these natural pieces of sandstone, limestone, granite, slate, and river stone serve as the basis for my creations.
Some gaze at clouds and see just that, others see many extraordinary images, Similarly, I visualize images in and on the stones, then enhance and expose them through various artistic techniques. Less is more, minimum paints applied, allowing the natural stone’s uniqueness and beauty to dominate. The colors, the unique contours, shape, and surfaces are utilized, creating truly one of a kind works of art.
